fossato seasoning. 40g

$12.00

In the province of Catanzaro, nestled in the fig riddled mountains sits the quaint village of Fossato Serralta, with a population of just under 600 and atmosphere today reminiscent of centuries past. This full flavoured seasoning is a homage to our Nonno, Nonna and the flavours they literally and metaphorically brought with them. Featuring the Calabrian Diavolicchio chilli that looks like the Corno (devil horn) luck charm, bay leaves that come from a cutting Nonno brought over from Fossato, this season’s garlic, fennel seeds, sweet and Thai basil seeds (a nod to basils origin and further family ties).

This seasoning packs a punch of flavour and heat reminiscent of the salami and sausage our family and Paesan make from scratch.

Perfect on top of pizza, pasta, seasoning for any fried food, over a good cut of steak, roast veg, or even simply on top of fresh bread and tomatoes with a drizzle of olive oil. A little goes a long way.
