You’ll notice the parallels of this sauce to the standard store bought ketchup, yet with a heightened flavour and tang brought to you by the tomatillo base. You may have never stumbled upon a tomatillo before, and if that is the case it’s our pleasure to introduce them to you. Also known as the Mexican husk tomato. Although they’re similar in appearance and in fact the ancient ancestors of tomatoes - don’t get them confused with one another. These little packets of joy have earnt an identity all their own. Tomatillos have a more acidic, slightly less sweet flavor than ripe and unripe tomatoes with an interior texture denser and less watery. Enjoy this ketchup as you would any other, beside fries, on a hotdog, burger, pie & slathered over your brecky bacon and egg focaccia.
